I have a 1990 Chevy Caprice with a factory Chevy 350 tbi engine (vin code "7"). On the rear of the passenger side valve cover there is a hose that, from pictures i have seen, is supposed to connect to the side of the air cleaner, but its is missing the connecting hose. What is it called? Do I really need it? What is it? This is my first project car and if anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I need some contact cleaner to clean out the pots on my amp... recommended brands are stuff like Peavey's "Funk Out". When I searched up contact cleaner, it says it's just compressed air with a cleaning agent...

So could I begin with using basic compressed air like Memorex's "Non-Ozone Deplating Duster: Dust & Lint Remover" that would use for cleaning computer electrics?
ahh.. i read on you're supposed to use contact cleaner, THEN get that and the other gunk out with compressed air. suppose trying JUST compressed air at first wouldn't hurt though.

My air filter was inserted incorrectly and now dirt particles are stuck in the heat pump coils. I only have a 4" space to run a vacuum across the coils. Other than to remove the duct work, how would anyone clean these return coils? Seems very dirty and difficult to access.

What does this air cleaner go to?

Here is an air cleaner I have lying around, and I'm trying to get rid of it for sale. However, I can't find what it goes to!

I usually deal with Muscle-era cars, so it's probably a MOPAR of some kind, but I'm not sure whatvehicles it goes to at all.

The sticker describes a "-itive crankshaft ventilation" but it's in bad shape and I can't make out the rest.

If you got any idea what this odd air cleaner goes to, I'd really appreciate it.

I bought a 77 cj5 and the carb is just open on the top with no air cleaner of any kind. The circular opening on the carb is approx 2" in diameter and i havent been able to find any kind of air-cleaner that reduces that small. Is there supposed to be a canister on there or is it supposed to be a tube (K&N style). Or maybe my carb is just a piece of junk that shouldn't be on there anyway. I dont need anything high performance for now, I just want it to run. Any help would be aappreciated. Thanks

I have a HEPA air filter. It has a button on it, which turns on the optional "ionizer" feature. The system is made by Honeywell (actually a company called Kaz, which sells it under the Honeywell name.)

Any information on the helpful effects of having "negative ions" in the air?

In the past we bought this stuff for a box and got (3-4?) cut pieces out of it. We bought it at Lowes in Burbank, CA. But, we've moved to a new city and don't know where to find it locally. The local hardware stores don't seem to carry it and I'm having a hard time finding it on-line. Could be because it's late and I'm tired and my "google-fu" is weak right now.

This looks like the air purifier that we have and be the same model:

            http://www.amazon.com/Whirlpool-Whispure-450-Purifier-AP45030S/dp/B000ELQMPM/

I'm not looking for the whirlpool brand since it appears to cost about three times as much. I'd rather pay a fraction of the price and cut them to fit just as we have since we bought the darned thing.

Can anyone point me in the right direction???

All of the "how to" videos show easy access with a few bolts but mine is sealed. I had a heating and air guy come out and said for my type of set up it would cost hundreds to clean. They haven't been cleaned for at least ten years and I'm afraid they are pumping in mold. Please help! Thanks!

How do I secure my rights to clean air?

What are my tenant rights to break my lease? (I live in San Francisco)?
I entered a 1-year lease on the basis it was a non-smoking building, but many other tenants smoke. I complained to my manager and he immediately posted no smoking signs around the building and sent a notice letter to each tenant that no smoking's allowed in tenants' units and building's common areas. The tenants ignored the letter and continue to smoke and it's been negatively affecting my health (eye irritation, congested chest, difficulty breathing). The smoking's so bad, I bought an air purifier and weatherstripped my door to help clean the air. However, the common area's so congested with bad air I feel sick everytime I enter the building. I've made another complaint to my landlord that the smoking hasn't stopped and I'm awaiting his response.

If smoking's banned in the building, why do people smoke anyway? Anyway, if people don't stop smoking and the landlord fails to do anything about it, then I need to
I want to stay in my apt and don't want to create conflict between myself and other residents. I just think it's unfair that people smoke in their units even thought their lease agreements clearly state that it's a non-smoking building. What are my options to facilitate positive change so that I breathe in a smoke-free environment in my building?
I don't care if people smoke because it's their right. I care about what's stated in my lease agreement.

For my case, the Tenant-Landlord Lease Agreement stated that I'd be living in a non-smoking building". IF people had read their lease agreements, they should follow it. People have a choice where to live. I chose a place that's a non-smoking building, but people are violating their lease agreements.

I'm trying to understand how the clean air act is passed and enforced. From the wiki: "Although the 1990 Clean Air Act is a federal law covering the entire country, the states do much of the work to carry out the Act."

I thought that federal laws or regulations that require the states to enforce them are unconstitutional under the 10th amendment? I'm just trying to understand what the limits of the federal government are with the EPA.
