I am especially interested in how I can reach inside the top vent (which blows air out) and clean the circular wheel which has little "lips" all the way round.
I should add some more details:
It's a Carrier circa 1995, Siesta model TCA051B with carry handle.
It's a great unit...they just don't make them like this any more, because I have looked EVERYWHERE, & been unable to find one both light-weight & powerful like this.
The slots in the top are only 3/8 inches x 2 inches wide, however, so not possible to get crevice tool inside.
I don't want to really blow out because of possible mold in there.
I had the twin one to this (I have two) professionally cleaned & recharged last year,& it is working like a charm. But this one I really had to put in today because my helper is going away, so trying to figure out how to clean it while in place and unplugged.
Not sure if taking front off will do any good; trying to figure if possible & if so if it will help.

When I come back after a few hours or wake up in the morning (especially when the window is closed), the living room will smell bad. I assume there is mold growing in the carpet. Would an air purifier stop it from smelling?
We're developing cat allergies. We already keep the cat out of the room, and we have taken to washing her every month. Now we're researching room air purifiers for the bedroom for mold, carpet, dust as well as pet dander allergies. Do you use one? Are you happy with it? Has it decreased your allergy symptoms? I live on the coast in a valley and my house has a lot of mold I suspect between the walls. He gets asthma issues nightly, and I have been having sinusitis and pressure behind my eyes, muscle aches etc. We are otherwise healthy, young and vibrant but since living here for 8 months, we have really been getting sick. Do you think that a Honeywell air purifier would help to eliminate the mold? What can we do? To live here is expensive so we cant just move and our jobs are here. What can we do to "tough it out" one more year until we move?
I have an air purifier that I usually run because I live in a basement apartment and when we moved in, we had mold and stale air problems because the windows are very small and don't provide much fresh air. My roommate says that the purifier makes the air dry and gives her nosebleeds but my mom says that it shouldn't make the air dry at all. Which is it?
We have a de-humidifier as well but she doesn't like to run that either because she says it also makes the air too dry and, again, gives her nosebleeds.

All of the "how to" videos show easy access with a few bolts but mine is sealed. I had a heating and air guy come out and said for my type of set up it would cost hundreds to clean. They haven't been cleaned for at least ten years and I'm afraid they are pumping in mold. Please help! Thanks!
I need an air cleaner in eliminating pet particles, mold, dust mites, smoke, gases, etc.; preferably one that has a filter that can be just wiped off and put back in or filters that are not real expensive. I have heard that Carrier Air Purifers are the best but just not sure. Looking to clean/purify approx. 800 sq. ft. And does an air cleaner eliminate radon or others gases that possibly could be in a basement?
