use of disposable air filter along with electrostatic air filter?
should I buy a disposable air filter to use with the 15 year old electrostatic air cleaner attached to my furnace? I think it would do a better job eliminating dust in my house.

It's 9 Cnd., and there's a 9 pet dust model, too. 24 cyclone tech, 17 ft. stretch hose, furniture attachments. Not to be confused with the earlier Shark models. It promises to do same job as competition twice the price, but y'know....Vacuum Cleaners.
I just don't feel like doing the 'buy, try, and return' routine, so opinion from someone will be appreciated.
OK, I bought one. Soon I'll be able to answer my own question.
I've got a 1995 Chevy c1500 with a 350 V8 and I was wondering would it be better to have the stock air filter cover setup or to put an air filter cover set up thing that is the chome peice on the bottom and the chrome peice on the top and the round filter is exposed. Because I don't know if it'd allow more air into it or if itd be bad because the air would be hot from being in the engine bay or what. Also I was wondering if it was possible to convert it to a caurborator and what I'd need to do to do that and about how much it'd cost to do by myself or if I had a shop do it. Plus any other advice about how I could give make it have more torque and horsepower would be greatly appreciated but keep in mind I dont have that much money and I don't know a whole bunch about engines or transmissions and that stuff. But I do know some and I'm slowly teaching myself.
P.S. I want to know these things because I love muscle cars and sleepers and even though the pickup has a nice amount of power and torque I'm trying to get more to hopefully bring it to the strip. And like I said I don't have a bunch of money because after all I'm a 17 year old with a teenager's job. But I love real cars which I don't know how many kids my age do anymore. A lot of them like the cars with 6bangers but they dont smell, sound, look, or take off from the line like real cars do.
P.P.S. And any idea how much it'd cost to get the truck converted to manual? Because I've always thought of muscle cars as manual even though theres some real nice automatics out there that squeak the tires each time they shit going down the 1/4th mile
.
Thanks in advance
Arthur
Just bought an older house. When we turn on the whole house fan, even with lots of windows open, some air is still drawn through our vents. This causes severe alergy attacks for my wife. The previous owners never had the furnace serviced, weren't the cleanest people, and had several cats. I can only imagine how nast all of the air ducts are. I cleaned out a couple of the reurn ducts and they were nasty with dust and construction debris. I want to have the system cleaned out well. I've gotten several quotes that vary pretty greatly in cost 9-0. We have a small home with a finished basement that also has heating ducts. I want to choose a service that will do a great job, but have heard that some do a much better job than others. How do I know what to look for, or ask for in a good air duct cleaning service?

I am looking into employment with them and wondering if there is any literature as to the treatment of employees or job facts.
I own a small Philips AC 800 electronic air cleaner.
The filters are disk shaped, about 5in diameter by 3/4 inch thick.
The filters are Model ACF3.
They are not available in any store nearby. The product is not shown on the Philips web site.
I was told it was obsolete but it was still manufactured and sold in 1995.
Any help appreciated.
Filters are white, with black carbon side.
I have been told it is theoretically possible to open the plastic case the filters come in - how (without breaking them) no one told me.
Then I was told to take out the old batting - which is a sort of fiberglass/cotton blend, and replave it with ordinary batting.
Next I was told to buy a "commercial sheet" of carbon filter material (1/8" thick) -- although no one knows where to buy that! I was then told to use the old carbon for a pattern to cut new carbons and new battings. I would then stuff ths back in the filter case, and put it in the machine!
Sounds like quite a job to me!
The vac is on this website
My main question is this... Does this vac work great for pet hair? Or does it get plugged up and shut of easily. I have two goldens, and two cats and need a vac that can get the job done.
Ok, I just installed a spike air cleaner on my vstar 650. It looks great!
I haven't taken it out for a spin yet, but.....
with the package came the little screw things to jet out the carb. I looked it up in a book and it looked like it would be a huge job to do and I'm afraid of messing it up.
Would it really be all that necessary to install it? Would I be stupid to start riding again without having installed it?

Hello!
I am interested in purchasing an air purifier to help rid of the dust my dog tracks in as well as indoor cigarette smoke.
I don't want a cheap that will have to be replaced soon or doesn't do it's job, yet, I don't want to pay more than maybe...0.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. It helps to receive answers from those who have experience with air purifiers.
Thanks so much for your help!!!
