All of my family suffers with allergies, I have heard a lot of good things about the Ionic Breese. Recently someone told me that buying that is a waste of money and the Hepa Filter air purifier is better but they did not say why- before I purchase one, I would like some opinions, which is better Ionic Breeze or a Hepa Filter purifier and WHY?? Price is of moderate importance- I want something that will really help with our allergies and is not just a fad. Thank you for serious aswers- I don't care how long the answer is as long as it is informative and honest.
I have 2 dogs. My dog that I had longer has always had allergies. The other day I just brought home a new dog and I noticed he sneezes too. I personally think it has to do with dust particles in my house because I can feel it too. Do you think I should get an air cleaner and a humidifier to reduce this problem?
I live in a basement apt. and I have 3 cats. My nephew lives upstairs and he has bad cat dander allergies. We have an air purifier on the furnace but it does not really help. I am now thinking of getting one for his personal use in his bedroom. Does anyone know if this will help? I don't want to have to get rid of my cats, which is what they are asking me to do.Help.
Was wondering if anyone has one of these. If so, do they work great? Do they last long or break down quickly? Any input would be great! My fiance has crazy allergies and they seem to be getting worse. If you know of any better hepa filters, please mention that also.
Thanks so much!
Our HVAC friend recommended that we consider the Trane CleanEffects system. We have terrible allergies (to the point of replacing wall-to-wall with hardwood) and he thinks it's a great system. We currently use Honeywell room purifiers, however they are really loud and my husband hates it. Since Honeywell is a brand I use and trust, I am trying to find out if there are significant performance and cost differences between the two. From what I gather from the Trane marketing material is that the Trane filter is non-porous creating less pressure drop. Beyond that, I don't know what the difference is in air quality or cost. So I guess I have three questions:
What are the performance differences?
What are the cost (unit, installation, filters) differences?
If you use either of these systems in your own home, what do you love/hate about it?
My wife and daughter both suffer from allergies and I was wondering if getting the air ducts cleaned will make any difference for them or if it's just a waste of money.
I'm shopping for a new bagless vacuum. I'm not worried about allergies, but I don't want dust flying back out of my vacuum. While one that uses a micro-filtratation may be cheaper than one with a HEPA filter, will it meet my need?
Is your air purifier sealed like the manufacturers' tout? Be careful which air purifier you buy... you may be blowing your $ away! We provide evidence of one air cleaner, Blue Air, which does not accomplish air purification. It merely blows the dust, like an expensive fan, around your home. I just came home from California to my house back in Colorado, it's been 10 months, and I have some crazy allergies or something. My mom has two dogs (pomeranians), but I have always had a pomeranian in California, but they are crazy allergies I am having, I am thinking its the air in my house or something??!!??
PS. I have the sniffles, and runny nose while out and about too, not just inside my house. But it seems worse in my house.

I have allergies and my allergiest told me to get a hepa filter. He said it didn't have to be way pricey but, I don't want a cheap one, I want one that works. I've done everything else that he asked so I'd really like to find a good one. Any suggestions on brands? I don't want an ionic thing so don't even suggest.
I have an Electrolux Oxygen 3 upright vacuum. Do I *have* to use the HEPA filter on it? It will still pick up the dust and dirt on the floor, right? The HEPA just filters the air being pushed back out and we have no allergies or other issues so what is the advantage?
I live in an apartment in the middle of the city and my room gets dusty really easily. I have to vacuum and dust almost everyday. I'm thinking about getting an air purifier purely for the sake of removing the dust. I don't have any pets, or any allergies. Is it worthwhile investing in an air purifier for that sake?
My son has allergies and the doc is reconmending an air purifier.Do they work, would you reconmend getting one? Not sure what I am looking for when it comes to features on them and don't know what brands are good. Also I have heard about people installing some sort of purifier on their furnace. How much does this cost and does it work? Looking for any thoughts or advise. thanks
I have asthma and allergies real bad and need relief. I bought an air purifier but it seems to dry the air out. I need relief to breathe while sleeping. Any suggestions?
I am looking for an air purifier that will reduce the amount of dust my room accumulates. Not just for the fact that I have a lot of expensive electronics in my room, but also because I seem to always have allergies. My room is about the size of an average college dorm room (not very big) so I am looking for like a table top one or something for less than 0. I was looking into that ionic breeze, however it got a good deal of negative reports especially from consumer reports. Anyone have any recommendations?
I know for sure my cats have allergies and I know a air purifier helps with their allergies. But which one should be better....a purifier or a humidifier?
