A small piece of dust of mass m = 1.5 µg travels through an electric air cleaner in which the electric field is 477 N/C. The electric force on the dust particle is equal to the weight of the particle.
(a) What is the charge on the dust particle?
????????? C
(b) If this charge is provided by an excess of electrons, how many electrons does that correspond to?
????????electrons
I was thinking about making my own but that would require some hard work finding the materials I need for my idea. Anyone know of any flexible mop of some sort, or a brush that may be used to clean deep into ducts? I'd rather look into doing it myself before hiring some "pro" with a big vacuum.
Oh, it's supposed to be...
Anyone know of any affordable tools to clean out air ducts?

I know air purifier uses UV light to kill bacteria, but the one air purifier I own is B&Y Air purifier is using something like Sterilization Filter. You can check out their technology http://www.byinternational.com/home_office_air_purifiers_BY750.htm
I live in an apartment in the middle of the city and my room gets dusty really easily. I have to vacuum and dust almost everyday. I'm thinking about getting an air purifier purely for the sake of removing the dust. I don't have any pets, or any allergies. Is it worthwhile investing in an air purifier for that sake?
My son has allergies and the doc is reconmending an air purifier.Do they work, would you reconmend getting one? Not sure what I am looking for when it comes to features on them and don't know what brands are good. Also I have heard about people installing some sort of purifier on their furnace. How much does this cost and does it work? Looking for any thoughts or advise. thanks
I have a SB400 and it is all stock, I am wanting to get a diffrent air cleaner. But before i do i need to know what the metal tube is coming from the top to the exhaust manifold on the passenger side to the bottom of the air cleaner. The tube and just slide out. So anybody know what it is?
Thanks
In the past we bought this stuff for a box and got (3-4?) cut pieces out of it. We bought it at Lowes in Burbank, CA. But, we've moved to a new city and don't know where to find it locally. The local hardware stores don't seem to carry it and I'm having a hard time finding it on-line. Could be because it's late and I'm tired and my "google-fu" is weak right now.
This looks like the air purifier that we have and be the same model:
I'm not looking for the whirlpool brand since it appears to cost about three times as much. I'd rather pay a fraction of the price and cut them to fit just as we have since we bought the darned thing.
Which is better for removing smells and allergens from the air? Ion generators? Ozone generators? hepa air filters? Or some machine that is a combination of the three? I want to get something like an ionic breeze but not sure what's best....?
